The bridge provides a public “connector” to the residential at the west with the commercial and sports to the east. This creates a community space along the river for residents living there. It not only makes a stronger connection for the neighbourhood, addresses people’s health, but also protects very precious cultural rituals. Specifically, these are: Chinese medicine, traditional activities such as calligraphy, painting, “GO” - Chinese chess, “Qin” - Chinese instrument and provides a place for people to approach culture. The body healing occurs in the clinics on the bridge while the mind relaxes in park. The project uses a bamboo structure. Bamboo is an economic material with a soft touch, warm in feeling, and has familiarity and texture of the Chinese culture, a sustainable material in China.
